The Map List Pro plugin lists all, or a selection of, locations that you have created through the included Location custom post type. It also allows you to embed multiple lists in a page or post – these can be limited by categories, or by picking the locations from a list. Users can sort, filter, and search locations easily, making Map List Pro perfect for store and business location pages.
To install File List Pro:
Map Locations for Map List Pro can be created quickly and easily through the Wordpress Admin interface:
To add a Map List to your page you just need to click the Map List Pro button in the editor. This will let you pick the options you want to use for the list and add a shortcode to your page or post.
The first thing you need to decide is if you want to pick locations from a list, or filter the locations by categories. You then need to click on the corresponding tab.
This option lets you create a map list with just the locations you want to display. Just check the locations you want to include by ticking them.
This is the best option if you want to list all files from a certain category, and you want the list to update itself as new locations are created. Pick the categories you want to display from the list.
To show all locations pick the "By Category" tab and leave all categories unticked.
You can choose what direction the map list will be sorted initially - ascending or descending by title.
The rest of the options allow you to customise how the file list looks:
Once you have chosen all of your options click the Insert button and a shortcode will be entered into your content.
If you prefer you can enter the shortcode manually. Below is a shortcode with all possible attributes specified. When creating your own shortcode you can probably leave most of these out.
[maplist categories="6,3" orderdir="ASC" hidefilter="true" hidesort="true" hidesearch="true" locationsperpage="5" locationstoshow="236,207,189"]
Options for location lists can be set at a site level via the settings page. To access these settings go to Settings -> Map List Pro.
The following options can be set:
You can create your own styles for Map List Pro easily – the plugin has been designed so that future updates will not remove your styles.
Just create a /prettymapstyles/ folder in your active theme directory and copy one of the existing css files into it. This will then show in the Map List Pro settings page with (custom) next to it. Make any changes you need to this file – most of the colours and core styles are at the bottom of the css files to make customisation easier.
